Huerto

10 de febrero elegimos nuestro espacio del huerto.
English: February 10, we chose our orchard  space.

El 13 de febrero nos encargamos de sacar toda la hierba que tenía, esto para poder acceder a nuestro espacio de siembra de semillas, nos percatamos de que la profundidad estaba bien, solo debíamos agregar tierra.

English: February 13, we removed all the grass it had, this in order to access our space for planting seeds, we realized that the depth was fine, we just had to add soil.

Viernes 14 por la mañana, mi compañera llevó una bolsa de tierra para comenzar a llenar el espacio, también comenzamos a sembrar y regar la tierra.

Sembramos: calabaza, zanahoria, tomate y papa.

English: Friday 14, morning, my partner brought a bag of soil to start filling the space, we also began to sow and water the soil. We sow: pupkin, carrot, tomato and potato.

Sábado 15, mi compañera Susana llevó dos bolsas de tierra mas, para cubrir las semillas mejor y agregó semillas de sandía, de igual manera, volvió a regar.

el viernes 21 Jaziel y Valeria llevaron bolsas de tierra para seguir rellenando el espacio y al final se volvió a regar.

Sábado 22 de febrero nuevamente mi compañera Susana regó nuestro espacio.

English: Saturday 15, my partner Susana brought two more bags of soil to cover the seeds, she added watermelon seeds and watered.

On Friday 21st, Jaziel and Valeria brought bags of soil to continue filling the space and in the end they watered all.

Saturday, February 22, my partner Susana watered the orchard.

El 6 de marzo pudimos comenzar a ver los primeros brotes de nuestras plantas

English: March 6, we were able to start seeing the first sprouts of our plants

Debido a la emergencia sanitaria que desató el Covid- 19 nos vimos obligados a dejar de asistir a la escuela, esto implicó abandonar nuestro huerto de la escuela, solo dos de mis compañeras pudieron llevarse algunas plantas, ante esta situación comencé de cero el huerto en mi casa.

 English: Due to the health emergency that unleash the Covid-19 we were forced to stop attending school, thiis involved leavng our school garden, only two of my classmates were able to take some plants, in this situation I satarted the garden from scratch in my home.

El 30 de abril sembré semillas de cilantro, papa y tomate

On April 30, I planted coriander, potato and tomato seeds.

El 7 de mayo pude notar dos primeros brotes en la papa

On May 7, I noticed two potato sprouts

El cilantro tenía un pequeño brote y el tomate aun no parecía tener nada

Pasaron varios días y comenzaba a perder la fe, los brotes no crecían y el tomate no mostraba señales, fue entonces que el 18 de mayo, después de algunos días de lluvia comencé a ver el cambio: 

 English: the coriander had a small sprout and the tomato still didin´t seem to have anything.
Several days passed and I began to lose faith, the sprouts did not have grow and the tomato showed no signs, it was then on May 18, after a few days of rain, I began a to see the change.

A pesar de que pudo haber sido decepcionante ya no trabajar en el huerto de la escuela, estar en casa me brindó la oportunidad de observar mas de cerca la evolución de unas semillas, pude sentir la emoción de ver cada día como crecían los brotes y fue una manera de apartarme de la preocupación de nuestra situación actual, por momentos me preocupó que no crecieran las plantas, pero al final las plantas crecen a su propio ritmo y sin prisas, es maravilloso vivir todo este proceso en casa y apreciarlo de cerca.

English: Although it may have been disappointing to no longer work in the school garden, being at home gave me the opportunity to take a closer look at the evolution of some seeds, I could feel the emotion of seeing the sprouts grow every day and it was a way to get away from worrying about our current situation, at timesIworried that the plants would not grow, in the end the plants grow at their own pace and without haste, it is wonderful to live all the process at home and appreciate it up close.
